If you are after active beaches with plenty of activities and a lively feeling nightlife, head for Palma Nova and Magaluf. Whether you're looking for English style discos and pubs, great shops or a more local flavor, it's all here. Cala d'Or and Puerto Pollensa are a lot more relaxed with the characteristically Majorca atmosphere. For a mixed choice of restaurants and shops and the opportunity to treat yourself to a little sightseeing, take some time to see Palma where you'll find Bellver Castle (wonderfully lit up after the sun goes down), the superb cathedral, , and one of the largest marinas in all the Mediterranean.

If you just cannot sit still for extended periods on one of the beaches, you'll, be offered many choices with regards to water sports, jet skiing, paragliding or Waterskiing are all available and you can find windsurfing on offer at most major resorts. If scuba-diving seems a little bit too vigorous, a ride on a boat with a glass bottomed is a relaxing and pleasant way to experience the life beneath the waves.

Even though long lazy days on the beach are very enticing, you'll not want to miss the opportunity to see inland Majorca. The old-style train that travels through the mountains is an memorable experience, particularly if you mix it with a laid-back meal in Soller or take a trip to some of Majorca's renowned underground caves with their enormous subterranean lakes and caverns.
